Re: Jumping across references
Losing the Hits list isn't a problem at all, it's just that after the first bibliography scan I would have to manually clear it (don't I?) and I'm afraid I won't always think of that before editing other references  And yes, I'm using groups, too. Still, the back/forth arrows would be a great ...

Re: Jumping across references
I just didn't want to open 5 posts at a time, so I tried to group them in 2  1. Didn't come up with space and zz, thanks! :) 2. Ticking the references is not an option as usually the Hits list is already occupied, e.g. with the bibliography of the file I'm working on, and there are about 200 h...

Re: Working with PDF in Bookends
Thanks for the quick reply, Jon! :D Actually, I was looking for something like copy-paste + page number or copy citation and modifiers including the selected text. As I only started to use PDFs in bookends, I am copying my abstracts from another program into the "notes" section and obvious...

Jumping across references
Hi, as I am working on my reference entries, there are two features I am terribly missing – or is it just I haven't found them yet? First, I would like to automatically jump to the first or last reference in a list or group. My references are alphabetically sorted by author, which is also the first ...

Working with PDF in Bookends
Hi, I am currently attaching all my literature files to their Bookends entries and I just remembered there was a feature to automatically cite the page numbers together with the marked text in an attached PDF. I found the option to make a notecard from the selected text including the page number. Th...

Re: Caret for edited books; problem with metatypes
Actually, e d is what I have for edited books. Anyway, there are not so many of them I would like to cite with the caret, I think I can live with the manual workaround – and if the fix is coming anyway, that's great.
For the other problem I'll contact the support.
Thank you!

Caret for edited books; problem with metatypes
Hi everybody, I was looking for a way to get the author's name outside the parentheses and learned that you can use the caret ^ in the temporary citation to do so. Now that really is a great feature (I wish I had investigated it earlier), but while I was trying it I had problems with using it for ed...

Re: Problem importing from BibTex format
It didn't import correctly for me... but now I changed the import filter to "authors separated by ;" and adjusted it in the output. I may have changed something there by accident.
It seems to be working now, thanks again!

Re: Problem importing from BibTex format
I'm using the same thread for posting another problem: My BibTex output separates author and co-author with an "and", which will be inserted before the co-author's name in the author/editor field in Bookends. I don't want any "and" though, and if I wanted, it would be better to i...

Re: Problem importing from BibTex format
That worked! I just had to understand that the Book title field is the same as the Volume field. No problem with importing the other types either. Thanks a lot!!

Problem importing from BibTex format
Hello all, I am importing a lot of references from my old reference software (LitLink) via the BibTex format into Bookends. Now I have encountered several problems, the majority of which seem to originate from the LitLink output (which I'm working on). However, there is one problem I can't seem to r...
