Great: that's solved the problem.
Bookends was checked under "NWP", but the opposite wasn't true.
I had not been aware of the "Automation" item in the Privacy menu.
Many thanks

On new Mac, Bookends fails to connect to NWP
I've recently bought a new MacBook Pro, and thereby switched from High Sierra to Catalina.
I used Time Machine to import all my files from the old machine (also a MacBook Pro, from 2015) and found that both Bookends and Nisus Writer Pro run just fine on the new one. I've kept the old Mac, but haven ...

Re: Problems resizing windows
Many thanks: an Option-click on the green button solves the basic problem.
However "Reset Window Position" does not. On both my 27-inch Thunderbolt screen and on the 11-inch Macbook screen it simply moves the whole window a bit down and to the right, without changing its size (as far as I can see ...

Problems resizing windows
Hi,
The problem I have was raised here back in July 2012 ("Window position not stored locally?"), but did not receive a response that deals with the difficulties I'm having.
I'm using Bookends 12.1.2 on a Macbook Air running under Yosemite.

You talk about "section". Are you entering a section break after each quotation? Why?
And why are putting the citation *before* the quotation? Normally the citation should follow the quotation, isn't it?

Re: Beginner's question: where do I keep my quotes?
Hi Philologist,
Thanks for your message—that's in fact what I'm doing; my "quotes" file in Nisus is already enormous, and I precede each section with the Bookends-generated citation for the work in question. I then add "@page_number" to each individual quote.
Best wishes, David Sharp

Beginner's question: where do I keep my quotes?
Hi,
I'm working on a long manuscript, containing a lot of quotes and related footnotes.
I also have a separate RTF file containing quotes I've noted in recent years, listed by source. This is getting rather unwieldy.
