fusing two databases
Is there any way to put databases together. I know I can export and import, but I am wondering if there is a way to keep static groups and the journals assigned to them as well. I have 4 databases that I would like to fuse together if possible. Thanks, Danny

find and replace problems
I am having find and replace problems. Importing from ATLA/Ebscohost I guess isn't UTF-8 or something, because accented characters are all screwy. In the past I have been able to just do find and replaces, but Bookends will not find anything now. I am searching for ?© (for example) which is not a ...

ya, the faith dropping would be good, maybe in the future though some sort of visual confirmation should be implemented. That's great, thanks.

drag and drop in the list view
Hi Jon, I was wondering if there was any plans to make drag and drop available in the list menu, so that entries can be placed into smart and/or static groups. I know you can control>click and then choose the group, but it is a bit of a pain, drag and drop would be so much quicker. Cheers!

If you are using Mellel, pardon my french, but you'd be a fool to use anything but Bookends. The functionality between the two cannot be beat. There is some discussion about this question on the Mellel forum, and Bookends won that thread too

'City' field again....
Then would there be any way to have Bookends 'know' what city should be there because of the publisher? That would be nice.
as an aside, will the em dashes be implemented for 8.0.5?

em dashes in SBL
In SBL (and chicago/turabian as well I think) the three em dashes is followed directly after by a period > space and then the rest of the information. Just wanted to add that small point so that the change in the formatter will leave in the period.

Jon I've locked on to two minor problems,
1) in the list view I am doing a live search in a static group in a specific field. When I do the search for the words it is finging 3 references that do not fit the search, BUT I had just changed the field information (so in other words, they used to fit ...

slow internet searches
My internet searches via utilities menu are going extremely slow, but Ref Miner (I still have it) is working up to speed. Any ideas why?

Hopefully this has been cleared up....
StevietheB, I'm not sure if you've fixed this up via email with Jon, but if not you can contact me at danzac@gmail.com. If you are wanting the short name/abbreviation showing up IN your reference window 'journal' field, you choose that in the General Preferences.

Jon, do I have to back up the custom folders as well for the update to 8.0.1? I installed the update, and I don't see custom folders anywhere?
