Temporary Citations format - Custom

It is possible to make a custom format to display temporary citations in a manuscript? The current way of doing it takes up too much space. I would like the temporary citation to show as little information as possible, like just the citation number instead of authors name, year, and citation number.

Sure. Do that and select it in preferences as your means of temp citation. Be careful to make it unique -- including the unique id in the "format" will ensure that.
