Hi –
I have the following problem: I cite a lot of documents that have no authors, dates, or pagination. In these cases, Bookends replaces the temporary intext citation with an empty bracket during the scan. Why doesn't Bookends use the documents title or short title in that case? I can't figure it out.
Thanks for your help!

empty citation brackets after document scanning
Re: empty citation brackets after document scanning
The format must itself account for what to output when a field (or fields) are empty. It can't guess what you want. Please see the User Guide for how to handle missing (empty) fields in a reference.
Alternatively, you can create a format Type that specifically deals with references that have none of that information (and then you assign that Type to the reference as well).
