Odd problem with short titles

I did a search, but didn't seem to find this curious problem anywhere. I was doing a scan of my paper in Mellel, and noticed that some, but not all, of the short titles in my notes had the last letter cut off. So, for example, if "Azkaban" was the short title, the reference shows up as "Azkaba" in the note. At first I thought it was a typo in the database, but there were too many, and they are all spelled completely in the entry. And it's not all references, only some.
