Groups column

Post by ppnkg »

quick question, is it possible to remove the groups column on the left from the main window? I just need to see the list as it used to be in the previous interface. Thanks!

You can slide it all the way to the left, leaving just the width of the scrollbar. This is just a tad more than in Bookends 10, in which case the splitter (dimple) was always visible.

Hi Jon,

I find a difference in typefaces used for the Groups column and the list view a little visually jarring. (I usually set my list view to Optima 12, as I find that typeface easy to read and appealing). As a future feature, I'd like to see the General/Default fonts pref for "Lists" also change the Groups column, or to have the Groups column as a separate setting for that pref.

TH

(Congrats on vs. 11! I'm just beginning to explore the new features!)

Yes, I changed the groups pane font to Lucida Grande because I thought it looked cleaner, but I've had several other complaints about this. I'll change it back in 11.0.1 -- the font and size will be the same as the List default you set in Preferences.

I suspect that this is first, a matter of taste and, second a function of the display surface. On my iMac at work, the contrast is less jarring. On the Samsung monitor I have hooked up to my MacBook Pro, I find the Lucida Grande unappealing.

(On a similar note, I've noticed that the new "Inspector" icon shows some small visual artifacts around the "i" icon more clearly on the Samsung than on the iMac monitor.)

The Inspector icon looks fine to me on my two iMacs. Please send a screen snap showing the artifacts to support@sonnysoftware.com and I'll see what I can do about them.

Here it is – looks like jpeg artifacts to me.

I have also attached a screenshot of the Online Search icon, which looks a bit awkward too (though I can’t really tell why).

I hate to say this, but I don't see anything odd. I guess this is why I concentrate on programming and not graphics.

Much better! Yes, jpg artifact I think. I'll fix it.

Thanks for the LARGE image.
