Safe PDF to Bookends, after update to 11.0

Post by Kosta »

Hi,

After my update to version 11 the "Safe PDF to Bookends" doesn't work anymore. There is no message, but there is no new reference either. What can I do to resolve this?

Thanks,

Kosta

I'm not sure what you mean. There is no Save PDF to Bookends menu. There is a Print PDF to Bookends option in print dialogs. Please contact tech support directly with your problem, and include screen snaps if you can so I can see exactly what you are (not) seeing.

Hi Jon,

Thank you for your reply, sorry I wasn't clear. I,m running OS X 10.6.2, and from the print menu in Pages and Safari, there is the option “safe PDF to bookends” via the PDF drop down menu in the print window. Previously this was working perfectly in version 10.6. Now, after the upgrade, nothing happens.

Kind regards,

Kosta

For those following, this occasionally happens when replacing an old version of Bookends with a new one because the printing alias becomes confused. The solution is to trash

~/Library/PDF Services/Save PDF To Bookends

and relaunch Bookends. A new alias will be created when you do that.

Import of PDF via the Print Dialog displays a window which is very tall and not resizeable, with the import and so on buttons at the bottom. I realise that ``working correctly on a Hackintosh with a 1024x600 screen'' isn't a design requirement, and I can always just walk into the other room and do it on my iMac, but so far as I can see this is the only thing that you can't use in Bookends on a small screen.

Any print dialog you'd use would be in another application, not Bookends, so Bookends has nothing to do with that (unless I'm missing something). But you can always decrease the size of a print dialog by collapsing it and hiding the preview.
