Problem importing DOI

APA 6 requires provision of a DOI when possible. When attempting to use the "Get DOI" command for my existing references, I get a dialog saying the references are being checked but BookEnds never finds a DOI. I don't have a problem importing a reference from a DOI. As an experiment, I just imported a reference using the DOI, deleted the DOI and attempted to look it up using the "Get DOI" command, without success. Am I missing something simple? Using Bookends 11.03.
