Page range and cited pages

Post by florestan »

Hi Jon,

I just discovered a missing element in my custom version of the MHRA format. In the footnote citations, it opens like this:

a, 't', f, v {(d)}

this is all fine, but then I should get something like this:

, *article page range* (p. *cited pages*).

So if the article is on pages 129-143 of the journal and I'm citing page 136, the result should be:

, 129-143 (p. 136).

Is there any way to achieve this result? I've been toying around with the various options in the formats manager, but haven't been able to find a solution.

Hi,

Cited pages are added by you in the temp citation, e.g.

{temp citation info@136}

However, if you have cited pages Bookends will remove the page range in the (this is a much-requested feature, not a bug). So you can't get the output you want that way. You'll have to do it with "quoted text":

{temp citation info\ (p. 136)\}
