Abbreviated first name?

Can I somehow use an abbreviated first name for authors and editors, i.e. "K. Marx" instead of "Karl Marx"?

You mean will Bookends automatically replace a name with an initial when formatting? Yes, it will. The name should be entered in the database as Marx, Karl. In the format, tell Bookends to use initials rather than full names.
