Automatic search/download of pdfs from PubMed

Post by daniloscel »

Hi there,

a very small question: doe Bookends perform automatic pdfs search/download from PubMed or other, like Web of Science?
i.e. does the sentence:

" [...] with automatic searches of PubMed you can discover articles as soon as they're published [...]"

mean that I can let Bookends monitor some publication using some keyword?

I'm wondering about that because in the Bookends website I did not find anything about such a specificity, unlike in the todays MacUpdate promo description (that is where I took the sentence above).

Thanks for any confirmation you will give me.

Cheers,

Danilo.

Hi,

You're talking about two different things. The pdf search/download uses several sites, some sequentially, and it's transparent to you.

The automatic PubMed search is different. In the PubMed filter, you can define and save searches that will be run automatically on launch at whatever time interval you specify in Preferences. For example, you can set up Bookends to search PubMed for terms ties to your work every week, and if new references are found (since the last search) Bookends will show them to you for review, import, etc.
