Unique ID as temp. citation?

Post by jb »

Since Bookends needs no more than the unique ID to identify references and produce a bibliography, one could use nothing more than this number in temporary citations. I always prefix temporary citations with '!', so using the unique ID alone would be fine with me and would make my documents a bit less cluttered.
But it seems impossible to search the database using the unique ID. This means that if I'm wondering which reference the unique ID refers to, there's no easy way to find it. Or am I missing something?

Yes, you can use the unique id by itself in a citation. And you can search the database for a unique id with the Find (Command-F) dialog.
