Possible improvements

Post by raymond »

Hello,

I wish to know if there exists a possiblity to select all fields in one Ref. window .bdb.

It is handy when I want to change all entry font size, and I wish to change all of them at once.

A second whishing:
In the menu Style, is there a way to allocate to each size there, in the down part of the pop up menu list, a keyboard shortcut.

TIA

Only one field can have the focus at a time. FYI, we recommend leaving the font size as the default, so you can manipulate the bibliography font size in preferences. Once you change text in a field, the font size for that text will carry through to the bibliography.

We've already used most of the useful keyboard shortcuts already, and want to reserve what's not being used for other functions in the future.

I would consider making changing font size of the selected text a right-click option if people thought it would be useful.

Thanks for your reply and explanations.
The font size in my preferences is the default. It is applied when I am writing in directly into the database.
When copy and paste pieces of texts from different sources, I often get the font in 18 size, and I need to correct it to fit the rest of the bibliography fonts size. Then I need a possibility, to either being able to select all fields in one command to be able to change their size, or as you propose, and I wish you would realize it, to enable right click.

I repeat: right click solution might be a useful one.

Thanks

There are 2 ways to deal with your problem:

Avoid it:

1. When you paste, use Edit -> Paste Plain Text. You can set Command-V to do this in preferences.

Fix it:

2. Global Replace -> Restore Default Font and Styles (for selected refs, the hits, or the entire database).

Thanks, This reply is very useful.
I'll try to remember it.

Still, I wish you will add the Right Click command

BTW,

I am on 10.6.8 and utilize Safari 5.1.

I get the strange announcement above your website.
It is in the attached screen picture.

Have you any idea about it?

Sounds like you have developer tools turned on in Safari. I do, too, but don't see what you do. In any case, it's unimportant.
