Change temp citation

Post by jb »

I thought I’d simplify my life, so I used a more succinct form of in-text citation, like this: {Wiggled #53978}.
I fear I know the answer but will ask just in case:
Now I regret this and am wondering whether Bookends can help in generating the dates for these citations, so that I can get {Wiggled 1992 #53978} - or must I change each one by hand?
To be clear: What I'd like is to alter the temporary citation marker itself.

Sure, that's what proofreading scans are for. They will replace the existing temp citations with whatever you are using now (and also prompt you to find ambiguous citations so it can make them unambiguous).

Thanks, Jon. This is great. I am relieved.
What I failed to mention is that my citations are preceded by the % sign and when I do the proofreading scan this % sign gets doubled. Easy enough to remove with Find/Replace, and I see that if I tell Bookends not to insert the % sign the result of the Proofreading scan will contain a single such sign. Although I see how to manipulate it to get what I want, I don’t understand why it behaves this way. (I’m sure it all makes sense!)
Thanks

I can't reproduce this. If you can with a new small Nisus document, please zip and send it to me, along with your zipped database.

Thanks,
