Hello, how can I automate the data in a selected field? With an Applescript or Automator script, maybe? For example: I want to write in field "Title" many times the same name; I can copy and paste it or I can press a button to fill the name in the field, I think it's better. Is there a way to do this?

Automating the field
Re: Automating the field
That's an odd request. But if I understand you, there are several ways I can think of. One is Global Change -> Change Field, which lets you place the same text in a field in many references at once. The other is to give the Title field a Term List, and then use either Autocomplete as you type or insert the "term" (title) from the Term List window.
As I said, an odd request. I don't know why you want this, but perhaps the Refs -> Replicate As Book Chapter might be helpful.

Re: Automating the field
Thanks for the answer, and I'm sorry for the odd request! What I would to say is: I make a new reference and I have to complete the field User16 of the Additional fields; I don't want every time to click on the Additional Fields panel and to click to User16 field and then to complete with the keyboard every time the same text, but I want to complete the field with a kind of script (Applescript, Automator, Macro, ecc.). I have to do this not every new reference and not for all the references I've yet make but sometimes, so your first suggestion isn't the best; the other suggestion is better, but the best for me should be a script.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Automating the field
The Global Change can be done on any subset of the database, so I think it's pretty much what you want. Bookends doesn't have a scripting language, so that's not a possibility. But Global Change will do exactly what you want.
