Hi,
I'm using APA format and I need to reference software. There is no software type in the dropdown, so I figured I'd try using one of the unused - but I can't figure out how to add a new reference type.
Thoughts?
Is there a way to add Software in APA with what is already there?
thanks
Rebecca
Software Reference Type
Re: Software Reference Type
Sure. In preferences create a new Type from one of the Unused Types (e.g. Software). Then in the format, Add Type... and select Software. Now define how you want it to be output.

Sorry, I can't figure this out from your comment:
"In preferences create a new Type from one of the Unused Types (e.g. Software). Then in the format, Add Type... and select Software. Now define how you want it to be output."
I can't see a way to "create a new type" from the Preferences > Refs menu.
Per chance can you do a quick screencast on how to do this? Or is it in the manual someplace?

Re: Software Reference Type
I'm sure it's in the manual, in the section on preferences. But it's trivial -- click twice on Unused Type (in preferences -> Refs) and rename it to Software. Now, in any popup menu that shows Types, you'll see Software where Unused Type used to be.

Got it ... the double click wasn't obvious
