Springer - PDF- Import

Hello,

i import a german *pdf-file. It looks like that: http://link.springer.com/article/10.100 ... 014-0354-3
on pubmed there is also an englsih version for example: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2461 ... t=Citation

The downloaded PDF File ist complete in german. After the import all the informations like title an abstract are in english.

I want to import this file in german, not in english and need help!

Bookends fetches metadata from a variety of sites (e.g. PubMed, JSTOR, etc.). They're all in English (Bookends will autofill an ISBN from Amazon, and you can select which country, so that can be in other languages). In this case Bookends is almost certainly getting the metadata from PubMed. If you want to have the metadata (presumably just the title, but perhaps the abstract, too) in German, you'll either have to try to find it on a German site that exports the information in a tagged format that you can import (e.g RIS), or copy/paste (or type) the information in yourself.

i found one way to get files and german title:

1. onlinesearch with bookends browser e.g.: http://link.springer.com/journal/63/108/8/page/1
2. Download citations (if its possible with pdf)

2a. download the pdf manually
2b. right klick on the reference / get pdf / find and attach local

Good work. I was playing around with trying to get the German metadata via Google Scholar, but your solution is much better.

P.S. If you see the PDF in Bookends Browser, you can drag and drop the pdf proxy icon onto the library window to attach it to the selected reference. No need to download to HD and then have Bookends find it (which doesn't always work, due to assumptions that Bookends has to make when it feeds the search info to Spotlight).
