Hi,
I am trying to construct a search to show me all entries without any data in the 'Short Title' field. I would like to limit it to references that are in the document I am currently working on.
Can anybody offer a suggestion as to how to do both?
Thank you!

I'm not sure what you mean by "entries". If you mean references, then you might want to try this:a search to show me all entries
1. Create a group with all references that are in the document you are currently working on
2. Then create a smart group with these search criteria
Re: Help with constructing a search
Thank you. That seems to have worked perfectly.
I'm using Mellel. Am I correct in understanding that if I "Verify Citations" in the Bibliography tab for the document that the Hits list in BE is then automatically filled with the citations from the document?

I don't use Mellel, so I can't answer your last question. In Bookends User Guide (p. 228) it just says Bookends library is checked to "ensure that the temporary citations are valid and unambiguous. If one or more citations are not, Bookends will be brought to the front for you to select the correct citation". It doesn't say that the Hits list in BE will be automatically filled with the citations from your document.jsturgeon wrote:I'm using Mellel.
I have looked at Mellel repeatedly, but I don't write in Hebrew, and lack of basic features such as Find All search, non-contiguous selection, macros and index has never made the program particularly interesting in my eyes, and nobody has ever told me why I should use Mellel rather than Nisus Writer Pro. But I'm open minded and always willing to learn something new.
Why are you using Mellel?

No, that just makes sure the citations are accurate. The Hits List will contain the citations after you do a Scan.jsturgeon wrote: I'm using Mellel.
