Formatted Ref - where does HTML come from?

Post by mwra »

Hi,

I've got my library set to use 'ACM SIG' for the formatted reference pane in the main library window. But, references are including a whole lot of HTML:

Code: Select all

Bernstein, M., Joyce, M., and Levine, D. 1992. Contours of Constructive Hypertexts. Proceedings of the ACM conference on Hypertext, 161-170.<span
class="Z3988" title="ctx_ver=Z39.88-2004&rft_val_fmt=info:ofi/fmt:kev:mtx:journal&rft_id=http%3A%2F%2Fdl.acm.org%2Fcitation.cfm%3Fid%3D168517&rft.aulast=Bernstein&rft.aufirst=Mark&rft.au=Joyce%2C%20Michael&rft.au=Levine%2C%20David&rft.atitle=Contours%20of%20Constructive%20Hypertexts&rft.pages=161-170&rft.volume=Proceedings%20of%20the%20ACM%20conference%20on%20Hypertext&rft.date=1992&rft.issn=089791547X&rft.genre=proceeding"></span><BR>
I'm expecting:

Code: Select all

Bernstein, M., Joyce, M., and Levine, D. 1992. Contours of Constructive Hypertexts. Proceedings of the ACM conference on Hypertext, 161-170
Checking further, the same corruption is present regardless of the reference format I choose.

Trying the same library on a different Mac, the reference is correct. Is something broken in my Bookends install. I've tried over-installing a fresh copy of Bookends but the HTML garbage persists so export of references is a bit hard at present!

I'm using Bookends v12.6.0 on OS 10.11.

HTML is an output option in Biblio -> Bibliography (and in preferences). Change it to Styled Text and you won't see HTML any more.

Thanks. Scan & Bib in Prefs did the trick.I've a new issue over bibliography order, but I'll ask separately If I can't find it in the manual.
