Why doesn't bookends find the DOI in this PDF

Hi,

Here's an example PDF for which Bookends can't find the DOI (i.e., when I drag the PDF to the Bookends window I don't get the option to autofill). If I manually type the DOI into the DOI field, and then tell bookends to "Autofill from Internet" it grabs all the fields correctly. Any thoughts about what's going on?

I'm on vacation at the moment and can't examine it until I get back. I see, though, that if I copy and paste the DOI from that PDF into TextEdit, whatever is inserted is invisible. So I'm guessing that this is something peculiar to this PDF.
