finding and detaching "localhost(null)"s?

Post by teebee »

After migrating from Papers (ugh, finally), my library ended up with hundreds of references with broken “localhost(null)” attachments. I painstakingly tracked down the PDFs, attached them, renamed the attachments. Result: I'm *really* happy with BE. 👍🏼 But...

I still have zillions of refs with *two* attachments, one working and one broken — “localhost(null)”. I'm looking for a quick / bulk way to clean those refs. The one way I've found to edit attachments is the "Edit Reference" panel in the main window > "Attachments" tab > and then something like "Detach." But I don't see any way to detach a “localhost(null)” attachment.

I *really* don't want to have to redo these entries, a huge amount of work. Is there a way to simply find and delete these null attachments? Not the refs, just the broken attachments. Preferably a fairly automated way.

TIA!

Refs -> Global Change -> Remove Orphaned Attachments?

Try this on a COPY of your library to make sure it works as you want, it's not undoable.
