same author multiple citations>

I have multiple articles by the same first author (but different subsequent authors) with the same year. After I scan a document, the "a" or "b" doesn't appear after the citation or in the bibliography, it just looks like (Doe et al., 2005) for both citations. I've got the style format on alphabetizing and sort by author date. Is there something I'm missing to turn on this feature?

No, it's not something you can turn on. Are you sure you don't have a duplicate of this reference and used one in one place and the other elsewhere?
