Hello!
Some websites, such as Academia.edu, list papers that do not appear elsewhere on the Internet—they do not appear on (say) a journal’s website, or on Google Scholar, where you can download (or copy to clipboad) citation data in one of the standard formats.
They only let you copy already-formatted citation—e.g., something in APA format.
Good, now our clipboards are loaded. Isn’t there any way for Bookends to parse this stuff—using good guesses about punctuation—and properly import it into the system?
I’m guessing we have to use Manage Filters and invent the regex parsing strings. Is that correct?

Please take a look at the User Guide (Help menu) section on Import From Existing Bibliography, an option in the File menu.

Thanks. I’ll check it out now and come back later with my report.
