APA 7th Journal Title Formating

Post by JCwrites »

I've just had my thesis returned and one of the issues to correct is incorrect of capitalisation of the Journal Titles
eg: this: Clinical and translational medicine
needs to be: Clinical and Translational Medicine

here's the Biblio formating : a. (d). t. [u14]. [u10]. f, v(i~)~|~, ~p-`.` {$https://doi.org/$u17^z}

I could go through and check each of the 1400 references however I'd rather use tech power

Is it possible to do it via updating the Journal Glossary or another way

thanks in advance

You have two choices. I recommend the first.

1. I assume you are using Medline.gloss. It doesn't contain Clinical and Translational Medicine. Edit the glossary (renamed to Medline modified.gloss) and add this journal with the correct capitalization, and any other journals that you cite that aren't in the default glossary. Now your formatted references should output the capitalized journal name.

2. Do a Global Change -> Change Case -> Title Case on your references. This will fix the current problem, but will have to be done again if you add new references with the wrong case. So this is a bit quicker to do, but less effective in the long run than the first solution (if you do this, make a COPY of your library first, it's not undoable).

P.S. I've added Clinical and Translational Medicine to the glossary for the next release.
