Groups’ pane

Post by Shayne »

Hi Jon,

Do folders in the Groups’ pane have to be arranged alphabetically? I can find no other way of arranging them (that is, I cannot change the order). I agree that the default should be alphabetical, but for different projects it is sometimes useful to re-arrange the order. As an example, I am trying to arrange the references for a dissertation into groups following the structure of the dissertation. Introduction will obviously come before Chapter One, but I cannot get the folder titled Introduction to appear before the one Chapter One. In other words, I would like to be able to drag the folders in the Groups’ pane in order to re-arrange their order.
Does that sound possible?

Kindest regards,
Shayne

Hi Shayne,

It can't be done now. Possibly in the future. For the moment, you might precede the name with a number, which will sort as you want (up to 9, anyway):

1. Introduction
2. Chapter One
3. Chapter Two
...

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the work-around. I think others might also find the ability to re-order by drag-and-drop quite useful. Perhaps one day.

Kindest regards,
Shayne
