Referencing multiple libraries within same doc?
Referencing multiple libraries within same doc?
Ok, time for a naïve question. What happens if I have references within the same document that come from multiple libraries? Will I be unhappy with the result, or is this commonly done?
references in >1 library
[quote="Jon"]Bookends will only use one database when scanning, there is no possible conflict.

I have a large document with references in two bookends libraries. When I scan my document, it only searches one library; I need both searched. What to do?

Hi,
You can merge the libraries (or at least transfer all the needed references to one library).
You can do this in several ways. I would recommend this:
1. Make hits of the references you need in library #2.
2. Export as a Bookends file.
3. Import into library #1.
You can also do this by drag and drop from one library to another.
Another approach would be to make a third library that has the references needed from #1 and #2.
As has been discussed previously on this forum, it is usually preferable to keep all your references in one database. You can use groups (particularly smart ones) to organize logical subsets, if you like. Bookends 9.0.3 (soon) will offer even more ways to handle this.
