Activating actions from within a reference

Post by Shayne »

Hi Jon,

Is there a way to activate an action (e.g., add to a smartgroup or assign a colour) while adding data to a reference? At the moment it seems one first has to close the window, scroll through hundreds of references (or mark it to add it to the hits list), select the reference that one had just been working on, and then activate the action. This seems to be unduly cumbersome.
I think it would be useful to have access to the Activate Action button from within the reference window.

Kindest regards,
Shayne

You can add a reference to a static group with the Refs -> Add to group menu. You can also drag its Unique ID to a static group in the List View and it will be added.

You can't add to a smart group, of course, because smart groups take care of themselves.

You can't add a color in the reference window view, although I will probably make that possible with the keyboard shortcuts in the future.

Thanks Jon,

I had overlooked the Refs -> Add to group menu, and had not realised that one can drag the Unique ID--this is a great little feature.

Thanks.
