BE/Mellel: "Generate Bibliography" greyed out

Post by chriggi »

After upgrading to BE 9 (I think) the "generate bibliography after scan" option is greyed out when hitting "scan document" in Mellel. In effect, BE (or Mellel?) does the same whether I check "Proofreading scan" or not: It only checks the citations, puts the references found in the hit list and switches back to Mellel.

What it does not do, and what I want it to do: Transform Mellel's temporary citation delimiters into in-text-citation according to my format in BE, generate a Bibliography (and a new Mellel document with all that).

Any ideas what could be wrong?

It's BE 9.0.3 (purchased BE 8 in Nov 2005 so shouldn't be a license issues) and Mellel 2.0 (bulit 15) on Mac OS 10.3.9

Now that I've upgraded to Mellel 2.0.6 things are different - but still not working (maybe the difference is accidentially, though).

I can check "generate bibliography" now, it is no longer greyed out. But: "Send bibliography to Mellel" and "generate bib as.." are still greyed out. And BE doesn't produce anything, it only checks citations against its references.

Hi,

Those options are grayed out because they are set for you -- you can't change them if you scan from Mellel.

As for not creating a new doc, I can't say. Does rebuilding help? If not, please send me your database (zipped) and a small example Mellel file.

OK, thanks.

I can't check if re-building helps for some days now. Thanks for the hint and I'll mail you if I need more help.
