Square brackets around numbers in Bibliography

Post by swisswuff »

Please indicate how the bibliography, which is compiled when scanning the Word document, could be formatted so that numbers are contained in square brackets without stop, so instead of the following listing, which I obtain automatically....:

1. Author, "Title" etc.

...I would like the listing to contain the numbers like this...:

[1] Author, "Title" etc.

So far, I have to re-do the [] manually.

Thank you very much!

Wolf.

Hi,

First, turn OFF numbering for the bibliograhy.

Then put this at the beginning of the order (for each Type):

[%]

Bookends will replace this with

[1]…
[2]…

etc.

Thanks! This worked perfectly.

Going to the manual, I found that [#] pulls up the sequential number, whereas [%] references the "true" database-ID-number. For typical biographies like the ones I try to create, I guess [#] would be the way to go.

Oops, sorry, I should have looked that up. Yes, you want # in this case.

I may make assigning reference number delimiters a more direct option in the future.
