a small glitch in alphabetic bib. creation

Post by danzac »

here's the situation. I have a encyclopedia article. In SBL style you put the author, title, and all the particulars in a footnote. But in the bibliography, you only put the particulars of the encyclopedia, you don't mention the author of the particular article nor the title of the article.

When you generate the bib. with a citation type like this, it alphabetizes it according to author of the article (which doesn't even appear in the bib. output). It needs to alphabetize according to the editor.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Not without some manual intervention. Bookends alphabetizes by author. If there is no author, by editor. There is no way to alphabetize by editor if there is an author present.

Thanks Jon. I figured out a workaround. For that particular reference type I will need to switch the author and editor field, and make the change in the corresponding format.
