Import from Clipboard

Post by danzac »

Is there a way to import from the last thing copied? This would a useful feature.

A bibliographic site I use frequently provides info for your bibliography manager in RIS, but it just displays it. I tried saving the info as a .txt file but Bookends won't import it. It would be great if I could just highlight the info, and import from the clipboard in Bookends.

Thanks, Danny

Danny, Bookends has done this forever. Look at the import dialog box -- there is an option for "import from clipboard".

I'm an Ass :)

I still can't figure out why the .txt file wouldn't import though...

Probably because the metadata is set to nonsense characters (instead of TEXT or null) -- the metadata overrides the extension. You can always drag and drop for import, though -- in that case the extension will be honored even if the metadata is incorrect.
