I found one report on the Internet that claimed this occurs in Mac OS X (Tiger) because library calls are now case-sensitive (e.g. Carbon.framework is not the same as Carbon.Framework).

That doesn't account, of course, for the fact that the vast majority of users don't have this problem (this is the second report I've had).

Nevertheless, I have made sure that all calls are in case agreement. So please download the next Bookends update when it's available, and let us know if it launches for you or not.

The next update is in beta testing right now, so you won't have long to wait.

If you have access to another Mac, BTW, it will almost certainly run on that (again, I don't know why your particular Mac has this problem).

We are participating in a beta program with Mellel. If you use Mellel, you can contact RedleX and see if you can sign up for that (I don't know if they are fully subscribed or not).

Without giving an exact day, I can say it's it's getting pretty close (probably within a week).

Sorry, doesn't ring any bells. I've had no other reports of this problem, so there's not much to go on. Obviously there is some problem on you system loading the Valentina database engine.

Valentina is a third party application, but yes, it is the database engine that Bookends uses.
