Newbie question about scanned documents

Post by ToddPeperkorn »

Friends,

I am still using the trial version, and will purchase either Bookends or Endnotes within the week. I have tried scanning WORD documents using either Chicago 15 or Turabian, and the bibliography never comes out with the name of the city. Has this radically changed in the last few months so I don't know about it, or am I missing something?

You don't say what the reference Type is. The Chicago 15th format for Book and Book Chapter, for example, do output the city. You can check this out with the Example button in the format definition. Assuming you are using those Types, are you sure you entered the city in the correct field?

This is best followed up by emailing tech support directly (support@sonnysoftware.com).

I figured it was something dumb. Apparently Amazon.com doesn't output the City field? Is it better then to search using some other engine than Amazon? That seems like sort of a critical error.

Thank you though.

There are well over 100 library filters we provide that can be used for internet searches. Enable the ones you want (File -> Import Filters Manager) and give them a go. Most don't require authentication.

I find Library of Congress usually gives you the best info.

I usually try Columbia U first, because they also provide a list of chapter headings in the abstract field. Very useful, I think.
