Problem with Word implementation

Post by daniel.bs »

Hello everyone,

i wrote an article in (german) word 2004 with the "copy citation" option in bookends, so my document looks like this:
"bla bla bla bla [Kannel, 1991, J Hypertens Suppl, 9, S3-8 discussion S8-9]".
Once i ran the scan, bookends created the bibliography correctly but also changed all the "ä", "ü" in my document. It now looks like this "f¸nffach hˆhere Inzidenz f¸r den plˆtzlichen" whereas it should be "fünffach höhere Inzidenz für den plötzlichen Hertod".
It also changed the font in some parts of the document.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Jon

Hi,

Are you sure this isn't Word X (which wasn't Unicode-savvy)? If it is Word 2004, can you reproduce it with a new document and one citation?

As for changing of fonts, see the Read Me. Bookends uses the style sheet settings for fonts, not necessarily whatever ad hoc font change you may have made. So ensure that the style sheet matches the font you actually are using.

The problem resolved when i changed the font in the document to times new roman so that it matched the font bookends uses for the bibliography.

Thanks for your help!
