copy formatted and superscripts

Post by thecritic »

The "e" in strings like "XVI^e" are properly converted to superscripts when pasting into Word and TextEdit, but for some reason, it doesn't happen in DEVONthink Pro. Is this a problem with DTP?

It's possible. Bookends places the RTF element for superscript in the clipboard, which DTP may not recognize (assuming DTP can handle superscript in its text editor).

It turns out that this was user error on my part. Obviously, when one pastes as plain text, the superscripts disappear.

But this gives rise to another, somewhat related question: when Bookends generates an OpenURL lookup for a reference containing superscripts in the title, would it be possible for Bookends to remove the carat symbols?

As long as the OpenURL library enters the superscript as plain text, removing the metacharacter could work.
