Creating Bibliography without using references?

Post by Hauldhagen »

hi there.. this is my first use of bookends, so don't be too harsh with me...

I've written a scientific paper and i've collected all of my used books in bookends.. in mellel, i just put the references in manually (couldn't get it to work as i would like - and not much time left)..

and now - i would like to create a whole bibliography for the end of my paper.. all 60 books listed classicly...

how to do that without using references in the text..
every book that is in my current database should be listed..

can you help an old one with that?
thanks a lot

hagen.
(sorry for bad english)

bonus-question: where to go/ask if i am not able to edit the formats manager correctly, so everything is shown as i would like to? (for example, APA 5th edition looks quiet good, but the year is missing everytime... or i want to display a "retrieved on" in german... how to do that?)

Hi,

To list every book, simple do a Ref -> Mark All -> Mark All References. Then use Biblio -> Bibliography Formatter to output everything to the bib window (where you can copy/paste) or to disk as styled text.

To add a page number to an in-text citation, use the cited pages symbol (@):

{temp citation@55}

If you want to insert literal text, you'd use the "quoted text" symbol (\)):

{\retrieved on \temp citation}

Editing formats is covered extensively in the User Guide (separate download).
