More flexiblity with "ibid" - is it possible?

Post by proteus »

Hello,
I was wondering whether there can be more flexibility in using "ibid" citations. It works great to spot and use "ibid" where necessary, but I would like, if possible, to have the possibility of using some wild cards, such as Author, in the formulation of an "ibid' citation.
Thus, instead of having
ibid., p.23
I am aiming at something like
John Smith, ibid., p.23
with the ibid text in italic and author extracted from previous or citation copied within the word processor...

Many thanks!

Bookends won't do that automatically, but you can do it yourself in the word processor:

John Smith, {temp citation@23}

Not by Bookends, but you can do a search/replace after the scan and convert Ibid. to italics.
