Adding bibliography

Post by raymond »

Hello,

I have already a chapter with references and bibliography list in Mellel.
I have added many more pages to this chapter, as well as the appropriate references.
Before scanning the document, I would like to ask, before it is too late, what would be the end results, will it create a totally new bibliography or it will insert the new elements in the existing one.
TIA

A new bibliography will be created and appended at the end of the document.

My problem is that when creating a bibliography in a chapter or a document I need to reformat each, or many of the entries in the list on the document. The reason, may be, is that I don't prepare the entries in the references database correctly, for different reasons.
If a new bibliography is created, I need to recreate-reformat all from the beginning. I found work around for that , but, I would prefer a way to insert new elements-references into existing bibliography, but it is not possible, alas.

If you tell us the reasons, perhaps we can come up with a quick way to correct them in the database (for example, with one of the Global Change options).

There are some reasons.
I don't find all the categories I need in the available ones, and you proposed me to prepare myself some which I need.
I did for Interview and for Archive.
Still, there some which are missing now. For example: Internet.
- Internet of a news from a news paper website.
- Internet of an article which is published only on the Internet.
- Internet of an article of a review which is available also on the internet.
I assume, that there are more, and in more categories, which are not coming to my mind, but there is a need to add them, and the only available possibility is to do it myself, and I came to understand that I am unable to do it with the complete data needed, so the end results should be corrected by myself when the bibliography is done.

I hope i was able to explain myself.

Yes, I think so. Your best approach is to correct the Bookends reference, not the bibliography. Not only will this avoid the problem you found when rescanning your document, it will ensure that the bibliographies will be correct for future papers.
