I am new to Bookends, and am wondering if it is possible to batch add keywords as I import references or afterwards. I don't want to change all the keywords of a particular reference. Rather I want to add a key word so the item will go into its proper smart group. (I have elected to have one database with several smart groups. Is this a good idea?) I did look at this thread http://www.sonnysoftware.com/phpBB3/vie ... word#p8257 but the find and replace needs a "find" and all I want to do is add.
Thanks in advance for help and suggestions, and I really love the program.
Keywords
Re: Keywords
Hi,
One db with smart groups is a good idea. There are a number of Global Change functions that can be used to modify references in batches. The one you want is Change Field. Note that ¬ (Option-L on a US keyboard) is what you use for the Return character, which enables to you add multiple keywords at once. I suggest you do this on a copy of your database to make sure you are happy with the changes (they are not undo-able).
