Drag&drop text into bookends without style caracteristics

Post by hah »

Hey there!

Here's my problem:
I often have to add references manually to bookends because it's not in any online database. I drag&drop it into bookeds, which maintains the style, e.g. enourmous sizes when I copy the title from a pdf. This is quite annoying – especially when I generate a bibliography, which still maintains the different formattings. Is there a way of changing the settings so that the text only dragged to bookends – without it's particular style caracteristics? Or can I standardize all entries in bookends in terms of style?
And another questions: When I double click on a reference, it ist displayed with all information. The standard text size then is quite small. Can I display it larger?
I'd be glad if someone could help me with this!

Have you tried to change the preferences to tell Bookends to make the pasting text paste plain text by default? You can change this setting in Preferences > Refs > Data entry

(I am not sure if this influences drag&drop of text into Bookends – if not, maybe Jon can treat this as a feature request…)

Hi,

Bookends will retain style info if you drag and drop text. But you can always clean up the database at any time with Global Change -> Restore Default Font And Styles.

As for the reference text display size, you can set the default for that (and for lists and bibliographies) in preferences.
