I like the idea of the new feature "Autocomplete Papers," but it really doesn't do what I need it to do.
Basically, it seems to be set up to import things from Google Scholar. But what if Google doesn't have a listing?
What I'd like to see is an easy way to copy the text from the PDF into any BE database field. It would greatly simplify data entry.
Autocomplete Papers
Re: Autocomplete Papers
It uses PubMed, Web of Science, and JSTOR, too.
What you want is the magic import function. Until Bookends develops the ability to read an unstructured document and determine which bits of text constitute the authors, title, abstract, date, volume, etc, these metadata must be provided by a reference source, like PubMed, Web of Science, JSTOR, or Google Scholar.
If you actually mean that you want to be able to copy text from the pdf to any field, you can do that now if you use WebKit to display pdfs in the List View. Select the text, copy, paste.
