Hi!
Just to let you know that I experienced a crash, when I played around with the preferences -> default font for bibliographies.

Crash
Hi,
We're working through various problems that are coming to light (nothing like thousands of folks trying a new release to come up with bugs!). Just changing the font popups doesn't cause a crash for me, and I don't know what else you did. If you can reproducibly crash Bookends, please contact me directly with the details so we can fix it.

Crash
All kinds of problems with this and Nisus -doesn't crash anymore but still refuses to produce stylized text -seems like this software has a long long way to go but don't tell the developers that! -you'll just get a bunch of nasty e-mails saying it works just fine (and it seems to with Mellel) but certainly not Nisus Express 2.1.1
Hi Shayne,Anonymous wrote:I would like to report the same or similar problem after changing the font. I cannot (yet) reproduce it, but once it crashes it really crashes. I have to throw out the preferences file, otherwise I cannot startup Bookends any more.
Congratulations on version 8.

We have had several reports about problems with fonts. In some cases it appears to be font-specific (i.e. perhaps corrupted font?). Hopefully the fixes we are currently making installing will take care of the db corruption problems. We are uploading new builds as fixes are put in, and will have a "0.1" release by the end of the week.

Hi Shayne,Anonymous wrote:I notice that when I change the toggle-to-font to HiraginoPro (a Japanese font--my database includes Japanese citations), this seems to crash Bookends 8, and it cannot be restarted until the preferences have been deleted.
It may be that that font is corrupted. This can happen, and it can cause crashes. I don't have HiraginoPro, so I can't test myself (perhaps you could send it off-list, unless it is commercial). If you are on the Mellel list, which has a high percentage of Asian-language users, you could ask if any other Bookends user has noticed a problem with this font.
