Remembering window size

Post by prop »

Jon,

It's great that Bookends remembers its main window position and configuration - I remember pining for that in the last version.

However, I'm constantly irritated by having to resize the Internet Search window for my PubMed searches. Why, oh why, can you not make this window also remember its "home". Please? Pretty please?

Thanks. ;)

Ah, my pet request. ;) Yes, yes, yes – please make all windows remember their position and size (even across multiple monitors). That would be wonderful. :D

edit: corrected spelling

Bookends does remember the Online Search window size and position, and has for some time. If it doesn't for you, try removing Bookends 10 (or 9) Preferences and relaunching Bookends. If it still doesn't, please contact me for tech support, and tell me what version of Bookends you are running.

Well, that worked. Not exactly convenient to have to trash my preferences, but not a big deal I guess. I wonder why it wouldn't "stick" in the Bookends Prefs file? All of my other settings did, including the size of other windows, just not the Internet Search window.... Perplexing.

Thanks for the quick response Jon.

I can't say without examining your preferences. If my suspicion is correct, it's an old bug that affected certain type of data fields, and was fixed over a year ago (but the issue may pop up in preferences that were created before the fix).
