Editied book - multiple entries

Post by garthpaine »

Dear all,

I am having some trouble when including a number of texts by different authros, but from the same edited book in a single paper - each time I scan the paper I have to identify the correct entry as Bookends states there are several entries from the one book and asks me to identify which one I want. As I selected the citation from Bookends in the first place and as the citations are numbered in Bookends, I fail to see why this happens each time I scan the document (which i do regualy as I do not want the full text inline when writing).

Is there a way to avoid this or to tell Bookends once only - ie that it remembers from then on in?

Cheers

I would make sure that in Preferences, tab Scan & Bib, the option Cite by Author, Date, Unique ID is selected.

That's right. If the unique ID is used in the temporary citation there should not be any ambiguity when you scan.

Note that with Bookends 10 you can design your own temporary citations by creating a format for them. You can also include the unique ID in this case.
