DropDown Menues

Post by sebheck »

I don't know if this is possible at all, but I would REALLY like to see a possibility to choose publishers (and locations), maybe even series, from a dropdown list. I am using term lists for all of these, but they don't provide drop down menues, just autocomplete functionality, which doesn't always help if you're not sure how you entered the publisher last time (with or without article, etc.).
Any suggestions?

Drop down (AKA pop-up) menus aren't practical when there are thousands of choices. Why not open the Term List window and leave it open to one side? You can collapse the window so that it just shows the terms. You can use type-ahead keying to quickly find the term you want, and then press Return or Enter (or double-click on it) to enter that term into the reference.

Yes, I guess you are right! That's a good, practical suggestion. I just noticed I can even use drag and drop to enter publishers into a new reference window (from the term list window). Beautiful! :-)

terms list for cities

Post by palazzo »

I'll hitch a ride on this topic and ask for a terms list for the City field. Usually when dealing with humanities the same cities come up quite frequently: Cambridge, Paris, New York, Milan, São Paulo… It would be convenient to have a city autocomplete.

Please realize that *any* field in the main reference window (including City) can have a Term List and autocomplete.

Extras -> Term Lists -> Add List...
