more trouble with punctuation in my formatted citations

Post by germandanny »

I am having some trouble with my formatted citations, and any help would be appreciated.

The first issue is this: I've deselected the period that follows my cited pages in the "Bib & Citation Options" page, but—randomly, it seems—a period still follows in a few of my formatted citations. Only on a few, and they seem to be journals. But not all journals are like that. Most are fine. Any thoughts?

Second issue: Per my citation style (Turabian), a journal citation's page numbers are preceded by a colon, not a comma. That's fine, as the "Formatting Options" specify that. But BE also sticks a comma in there after the colon because I have that on the "Bib & Citation Pages". Is the only way to fix this to deselect that option and manually enter the comma on all the different citation types on the "Format Options" page? Any other way?

Thanks

follow up

Post by germandanny »

As a follow-up to what I posted above, I have also found some journals cited with only the colon (no comma afterwards). I have no idea what's going on, but there doesn't seem to be much consistency, that I can see. I'm entering them in the same way each time, and BE should take care of the rest. But it doesn't. Not the way I'm doing things, anyway…

Hi Danny,

Are the journals that make trouble present in the journal glossary? If I remember right, you need the journals short name with periods in the glossary. Only then you can switch between journal with or without periods in "Bib & Citation Options"

hope this helps,
