Word 2008: lost style after scanning

I'm writing my report in Word 2008 and use numbered headings with certain styles.

I found that most of the numbered headings disappear after I scan my document for references (Bookends 10.2). This also affects my table of contents and styling of the body text.

What can I do?

Please see the Read Me about this. It may be that your style sheet settings are different from the style you actually have set, ad hoc, for these elements. If that's not it, please follow this up directly to tech support (support@sonnysoftware.com).
