BookEnds 10.4.3 freezes when attempt to attach PDF

Files were attaching without problems in my previous version of BookEnds (10.4). Since recently upgrading to v10.4.3, whenever I try to attach a PDF file, BookEnds completely freezes and I have to force quit. I've tried rebuilding databases, and even created a new test database, but it still happens. Has anyone had this experience and/or know how to fix it? Thanks.
