Small Caps in Citation

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help with this problem, which I have been unable yet to solve from Mellel's side.

If I am using MHRA format (http://www.mhra.org.uk/Publications/Boo ... load.shtml) I am required to list the volume number of multi-volume works in small caps.

ie. Karl Marx, The Poverty of Philosophy in Marx & Engels Collected Works (London, 1976; 1847) VI: 166

Where the bold figure, 'VI' is in small caps.

It doesn't seem possible to set Bookends to produce the volume number directly into small caps since the format manager box doesn't allow me to map something to the appropriate Mellel character variation. Is there a workaround for this anyone can think of - perhaps of tagging these citations in a way that would allow a simple find-and-replace? I have drawn a blank.

Assuming that there aren't that many such references, the easiest solution may be to change the size of the Roman numerals in the reference itself. When you're done, if you want, you can have Bookends automatically restore the default sizes.

Hi Jon,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've been doing it manually, but wondered what you meant by restoring the default sizes? Do you just mean that it goes back to being full size after I unscan and rescan the document? I suppose a nice feature for better integration with Mellel would allow customizable mapping to character styles and variations, but this may be tricky I imagine.

It wouldn't be totally automatic, but Refs -> Global Change -> Restore Default Font and Styles would set the size (and all other styles) of the references you edited back to the default. You could do this once the paper was finished and submitted (or whatever). Or you could leave the size of the characters in that field at 10 point (or whatever you used to mimic small caps).
